Bursana brings Pure Sonamkuhi Silk Saree which involves the great journey of cultures and evolves with traditions and the greatest craftsmanship of handweavers and artisans in making and processing the silk. Bishnupur, in the Bankura district, is famous for its rich silk sarees, having a feather touch and lustrous texture. These light-weighted, pure silk sarees come in a wide range of colours with variety in designs bearing a tradition as well as a modern look accordingly.

 Let’s Walkthrough Bengal’s Silk!

The handwoven raw Thaan is processed to Pure Silk by high skilled and experienced craftsmen. When they become perfectly suitable for dyeing then it is transferred to a separate dyeing section where extremely talented craftsmen dye those silk fibres in vibrant colours ensuring the exact and most intact binding of colours with the fibres of the saree all throughout so that the colours don’t fade while washing, and thus making it perfect for your wear and use. After dying they are dried and sent to the printing craftsmen or ladies do the hand-block printing. In West Bengal, this printing is generally completed by great women during their leisure times or also as a part of the cottage industry imbibing the motherly and proud woman touch to it.

In West Bengal, hand-block making and printing are mostly practised in Bribhum and Bankura by skilled wood craftsmen who can make the exact and perfect designs that are used for printing. They dip the wooden blocks in the colour and then press it with a hand upon the saree giving the most ethnic touch. Then the saree is left for dying and then carefully ironed. Then they are sent for a quality check and after passing that they are processed for packaging and hand-delivered to your home. And this is how you get your dearest Sonamukhi Pure Silk Saree for the pretty You!!
